For the past three years, I have worked at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield. For the first two years, I was in charge of taking care of the golf carts. I would wash them and park them. I would also help with picking and cleaning range balls. Last season, I transferred to work on the grounds crew. I really enjoyed it. I got to use weed whackers, hedge trimmers, as well as drive cool equipment. It was really rewarding to get to do ‘real’ work, compared to waiting for people to show up.
This last summer, I got to help my cousin, who is part of a company that provides internet to wild fire fighting camps. It was an entirely new experience for me. I got to meet lots of new people and learn all about telecommunications and how they fight fires.
